Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SplitDa ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Ikolvi ("Developer," "we," "us," or "our") regarding your use of the SplitDa mobile application.

2. Description of Service

SplitDa is an expense tracking and splitting application that allows users to:

• Create and join expense-sharing groups
• Record shared expenses and track balances
• Calculate who owes whom within groups
• Record settlements between group members
• View spending analytics and summaries
• Share groups and expenses via QR codes

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use SplitDa, you must create an account using:

• Google Sign-In, or
• Email and password registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

3.3 Account Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use SplitDa. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

4. Acceptable Use

4.1 You Agree To:

• Use the App only for lawful purposes
• Provide accurate information about expenses
• Respect other group members
• Maintain the security of your account
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

4.2 You Agree NOT To:

• Create false or misleading expense records
• Use the App to harass, abuse, or harm others
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts
• Use the App for any illegal activities
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions
• Use automated systems or bots to access the App
• Share invite codes publicly for spam purposes

5. Groups and Expense Management

5.1 Group Administration

Group administrators have the ability to:

• Manage group settings and information
• Add or remove group members
• Edit or delete expenses within the group
• Generate and share invite codes

5.2 Member Responsibilities

Group members are responsible for:

• Recording expenses accurately and honestly
• Settling debts with other members outside the App
• Communicating with group members about disputes

5.3 Leaving Groups

You may leave a group at any time. However:

• If you have outstanding balances, they will remain on record
• Your expense history in the group may be retained for other members
• You will lose access to the group's data after leaving

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Rights

SplitDa and all its contents, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, and software, are the property of Ikolvi and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

6.2 Your License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

6.3 User Content

You retain ownership of expense descriptions and notes you create. By using the App, you grant us a license to store, display, and process this content as necessary to provide our services.

7. Privacy and Analytics

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

By using SplitDa, you consent to the collection of anonymous usage data through Firebase Analytics. This data helps us understand how users interact with the app and identify areas for improvement. Analytics data is not used for advertising purposes and is not sold to third parties.

8. Disclaimers

8.1 No Financial Advice

SplitDa is not a financial advisor, accountant, or tax professional. The App provides expense tracking features only and does not constitute financial, legal, or tax advice.

8.2 No Payment Processing

SplitDa does not:

• Process real monetary transactions
• Transfer money between users
• Guarantee payment collection
• Act as an escrow or payment intermediary

8.3 Service Availability

We strive to maintain reliable service, but we do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted access to the App
• Error-free operation
• That defects will be corrected
• Compatibility with all devices or systems

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim
• We are not responsible for disputes between group members regarding expenses or settlements
• We are not liable for any loss of data, revenue, or profits

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ikolvi and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• Disputes with other users or group members

11. Account Deletion

11.1 Your Right to Delete

You may delete your account at any time. To delete your account:

• In-App: Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account
• By Email: Send a deletion request to connect@ikolvi.com

11.2 What Happens When You Delete

Upon account deletion:

• Your profile information (name, email, profile picture) will be permanently removed
• Your device tokens and push notification settings will be deleted
• You will be removed from all groups
• Local data on your device will be cleared
• Outstanding balances may remain visible to other group members for their records

11.3 Account Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms
• We believe your actions may cause legal liability
• We are required to do so by law
• We discontinue the service

12. Dispute Resolution

12.1 Between Users

SplitDa is not responsible for resolving disputes between users regarding expenses, settlements, or group management. Users must resolve such disputes among themselves.

12.2 With Us

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be:

• First attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation
• Subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where Ikolvi operates
• Resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective when posted in the App. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

For material changes, we will provide notice through:

• In-app notification
• Email (if provided)
• Updating the "Last Updated" date

14. General Provisions

14.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.

14.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

14.3 No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.

14.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights without restriction.

15. Analytics and Data Collection

SplitDa uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data, including:

• Screen views and navigation patterns
• Feature usage (group creation, expense tracking, settlements)
• App performance metrics
• Error reports for debugging

This data is used solely to improve the app experience and is not shared with third parties for advertising purposes. By using the App, you consent to this data collection.

16. Open Source Acknowledgments

SplitDa uses open-source software components. Licenses for these components are included in the App and are available upon request.
